Q1: What is the function of the 4G Mobile Wi-Fi​’s USB port?

A: The Micro USB port is for charging and it provides access to the file in the SD card for clients. What’s more, it can also provide internet access for windows computer through RNDIS technology.

Note: Not all Mobile Wi-Fi devices support SD card sharing and RNDIS technology.

Q2: What is the computer operating system requirement to use the RNDIS function?

A: For now, only Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10 support RNDIS function.

For Windows Vista/7/8/10, the RNDIS is plug and play, which means you connect your computer to 4G Mobile Wi-Fi via a USB cable and you can go to the Internet.

For Windows XP, you need to install the driver first (For details about how to use RNDIS, please refer to FAQ 758).

Q3: What file formats of micro SD cards are supported for SD card sharing?

A: The 4G Mobile Wi-Fi supports a micro SD card with file formats FAT/FAT32/ESFAT.

Q4: How to send or receive SMS messages of the mobile Wi-Fi device via smartphone/tablet?

A: Please download tpMiFi App from Google Play or App Store and install it on your phone/tablet, then you could check the SMS functions via the tpMiFi App easily, here is the instruction: How to send SMS by tpMiFi?

Or you could also log in to the web interface of the mobile Wi-Fi device via tplinkmifi.net, then go to SMS page.

Q5: What is the maximum number of wireless clients?

A: Normally, the M7350/M7310/M7300/M7200/M7000 supports up to 10 wireless devices simultaneously. The M7650/M7450 supports up to 32 wireless devices simultaneously. However, the specific number depends on your traffic load.

For example, if some clients in your network are downloading a large file, most of the bandwidth and system resources will be occupied, then only a few clients can enjoy the network, but if all the clients just do ordinary web browsing, then the M7350 can handle about 10 clients simultaneously with good network performance.

Q6: What can I do if the battery is broken on the 4G Mobile Wi-Fi​?

A: If the battery dies, please refer to your warranty policy to request for a replacement as long as the device/battery is still under warranty.

Q7: Can I buy an extra battery from TP-Link?

A: Sorry to tell that we do not have separate batteries for sale. If you want to use the MiFi device for a longer time, power bank is a good choice.

Q8: Can I use the 4G Mobile Wi-Fi when charging it?

A: Yes, but after it is fully charged, it is recommended to disconnect it from the charger.

Q9: Can I use the 4G Mobile Wi-Fi without a battery?

A: No, In order to protect the Mobile Wi-Fi device, it cannot work without battery by directly connected to a charger.

Q10: How to check the balance or remaining data of my SIM card in the Mobile Wi-Fi device?

A: Our Mobile Wi-Fi device supports SMS and USSD function, if your SIM card support either of them to check balance or remaining data etc., please have a try, if not, please contact your internet service provider to confirm it.

Q11: I mistakenly hide the SSID of my Mobile Wi-Fi device and cannot see the Wi-Fi signal now, how do I resolve the problem?

A: After you hide the SSID, it is normal that you cannot see the WiFi, and you will need to connect to the WiFi manually by entering WiFi network, security type, and password.

If you are unable to connect manually, please reset the device to factory defaults: remove the back cover, use a pin to press , and hold the reset hole until the device reboots automatically. After that, you will be able to see and connect to the default WiFi network.

Q12: What should I do if it shows “PIN Required” on screen of my 4G Mobile Wi-Fi device?

Q13: Why the Wi-Fi signal of Mobile Wi-Fi device disappears sometimes especially after the device idling for some time?

A: In order to save power and make the battery last longer, TP-Link Mobile Wi-Fi has power-saving mode enabled by default and the Mobile Wi-Fi will turn off Wi-Fi function when no device is connected for 10 minutes. To re-enable the Wi-Fi, you need to press the Power button on the Mobile Wi-Fi. Q14: I have no client device connected to the Mobile WiFi device today, but the mobile data was still been consumed, why?

A: Except for the data usage consumed by the client device, the Mobile Wi-Fi or Router itself also consumes mobile data because it needs to keep communicating with the ISP to stay connected to the internet even when no client device is connected.
